Why Top-earning Affiliates Have Their Own Domains And Websites

Many affiliate programs usually provide special web pages for their affiliates. This is one of the reasons why it may appear very strange, at first, that most top affiliates and the high earners from affiliate programs will most certainly always have their own websites, complete with their own domains specifically for promoting a certain affiliate program that they are involved in.

Why should these affiliates spend the extra money for a website, and even a domain name that both come with their own heavy demands when they already have so much visibility already through an affiliate program website? Actually there are a number of reasons.

Having your own website and domain will tend to attract more traffic than an affiliate site

A domain is bound to attract much more traffic than a long affiliate address. When surfers see what looks like a registered domain name, they will tend to take the site much more seriously than if they were to see the rather long affiliate website address. The affiliate can even ensure that they select a name that will be quickly picked up by search engines to give the site a high ranking.

It is possible to carefully monitor where the traffic is coming from

One of the major weaknesses of the vast majority of ordinary affiliate websites lies in the fact that it is not possible to analyze traffic and establish exactly where it is coming from. You would need to install some code and most affiliate sites do not give access to codes of the pages that they supply to their affiliates. The result is that folks are forced to operate blindly. Even as they instigate various advertising methods to get traffic to their sites, there is really no way they can track their visitors.

One of the most effective Internet marketing methods calls for the constant analysis of your traffic to establish where they have come from. The idea here is to find further ways and means of reaching that particular market niches. In this way you will find that your site traffic is constantly on the increase.

It becomes possible to harvest email addresses

With your very own affiliate website, it becomes a lot easier to collect names and email addresses from visitors to the affiliates independent website. It is usually not possible to do this from an affiliate website. When you do not do this, you fail to make efficient and maximum use of the leads you generate through your website and from all the marketing efforts you make to attract traffic. A person harvesting email addresses and building an opt-in email list is bound to make much more sales from lower traffic than a person with a much larger volume of traffic who does not build an opt-in email list.

It has been established that buyers usually need to be exposed to any product or service that you are advertising, several times before they can make a decision to buy. Emails are a great way to do this, and the only legal way to send out mass email is through permission marketing of using safe lists or your very own opt-in email list. This is a list of persons who have opted in to receive the latest updates and developments. This is naturally the more effective option.

There are various ways of harvesting email addresses from regular visitors to your affiliate website. You can offer an amazing free e-course or offer to send them some free fascinating software in return for their email address that you can then use to market to them again and again. It really is not surprising that top affiliates and top earners from affiliate programs insist on having their own websites and domains.

What Does The New Affiliate Need?

I'm often contacted by my website visitors, readers of my articles and others who've 'tracked me down' in some way or another, who are generally looking for advice or guidance in some form or other. One of the more common requests seems to concern their need for information about how to go about getting their 'planned' Internet home business started. More specifically, in fact, are those wondering about Affiliate Marketing.

It's not surprising at all, given the level of exposure that this particular home business model enjoys online. Certainly, every website with a home based business theme promotes or at least suggests Affiliate marketing as a possibility for the thousands of budding 'Netpreneurs' (not being a fan of 'buzzwords', I really do hate that expression!).

There would also seem to have been a recent increase in ebooks and tutorials etc promising the recipe for success in Affiliate Marketing. Having written one myself and read many, I can say firsthand that some are valuable, helpful and useful products which will go a long way towards getting a budding Affiliate up and running and, provided they have the necessary drive, perseverance and 'certain other qualities', on the way to success in their dream of working from home. Of course, some (IMO probably about 50%) are total rubbish, a promotional vehicle for some other product or program, or both.

One article is certainly not going to go anywhere near giving the necessary advice to the information hungry 'Newbie' who is chasing the promised dream of a successful home business. Nor will it suggest much in terms of the necessary requirements and facilities etc. However, after recommending a couple of the better (and more reasonably priced) tutorial ebooks, I will generally suggest that their initial Affiliate endeavor should include, at least, the following:

Domain and Hosting Package - Although it is possible for some to achieve a level of success in Affiliate Marketing without a website, the chances of a 'Newbie' having the knowledge, experience and abilities in the required areas is unlikely (i.e. copy writing ability for email ads and Google Adwords and knowledge and skills in areas of promotion outside of website promotion etc).

Domains are priced from as little as $5 to about an average of $12 per year. Certainly don't ever pay more than $20 for your standard .com, .net or .biz domains. A hosting package with the necessary facilities for a new Affiliate should cost no more than $3 to $5 per month. If it does, you're being charged too much, or paying for things that you simply don't need, nor ever will. A hosting package, which includes free 'sub-domains?, is a must for any Affiliate.

Safelist Memberships - I know that many say that Safelists are not very useful for promoting anything, as they are populated primarily by other home business people who are all there to promote rather than buy. This is true however, the fact that most are others in the same position as yourself, Safelists are a good opportunity for a new Affiliate to promote products, which may well be of interest to others who are also building or promoting their Affiliate activities thus, they are also useful for building your downlines.

Membership and activity in at least, a couple of larger ones, plus a few of the smaller (they can tend to be more responsive 'pro-rata') is a good idea. Safelists also offer the opportunity to see how others are writing their email copy and seeing what other opportunities are available can be an educational experience for the new operator. Safelists are also very much a good way to simply stay in touch with what is happening in the Affiliate/Home Business industry.

Traffic Exchange - Again, there are some who may doubt the usefulness of the Traffic Exchanges however, again, I see them as a useful facility, especially for the new Affiliate. Admittedly, the traffic that your website will receive from the exchanges is 'non-targeted' and very unlikely to consist of anyone other than those who are, again, in the same position as yourself. However, as in the case of Safelists, Traffic Exchanges are useful for building your Affiliate downlines and also for the very same opportunities and experience that the Safelists present.

Imaging Editor - In my opinion, a good image editor is essential for anyone involved in building and maintaining their own website/s (for a new Affiliate to pay for this service would be financially crippling). The good news is that there are a number of imaging programs, which will perform all the modification and adjustments that most webmasters would need and the one I suggest as the best is freeware. It is called 'Irfanview' and can be downloaded free at their website Irfanview.com.

Website Editing Program - As I just mentioned, having to pay someone to build and maintain a website (let alone more than one) would be financially crippling. Most of us have managed, over time, to gain a reasonable working ability with programs such as FrontPage and DreamWeaver and from there, at least a working knowledge of the common codes.

It can be daunting for someone who has had no experience with these programs or 'html' coding but this is where the 'perseverance' I spoke of earlier becomes useful. Besides, there are relatively cheap tutorials available and a ton of free advice in the 'Webmaster Forums' etc.

Of course, these few 'tidbits' are simply what a new Affiliate will need, in my opinion, just to achieve an online presence. There is far more to getting to the point where you will be attracting 'targeted' visitors to your website or actually referring paying clients to your merchants. In fact, there would probably be another dozen or so articles (or a good tutorial ebook) in just that alone. Did I mention that patience was another necessary requirement?

Becoming An Affiliate Marketer: You Can Do It

Becoming an affiliate marketer is an interesting and exciting process. There are so many programs out there for you to promote. You should think seriously before you commit to any one program.

Choosing A Program

To become an affiliate marketer, you must choose the right affiliate program to market. This can be done by reviewing as much information as possible about the affiliate program you are interested in joining. You can start also by reviewing what other affiliates have to say about the program before you sign up.

When choosing to become an affiliate marketer, there are certain things you should be aware of. For example, you should know what percentage of the sale of the affiliate product you will receive. This can range from as low as 10% to 75% of the sales price. Generally, the higher the commission, the better for you.

After you have chosen a program you beileve will be profitable to you may elect tohave a website designed to showcase your product in a professional manner. But why, I ask, would you choose to spend the time, effort and money to re-invent the wheel? Many affiliates are now providing a professional sales letter for your use and/or provide a redirect to the sales site. This makes sense for both the seller and provider.

Using An Autoresponder

Once you have selected an affiliate program, you, yes you must promote your program,. It is a good idea to set up an opt-in list and autoresponder from the beginning. There are many, many autoresponders available. Do an online search and comparison to choose the one best for you and the products you promote.

Using your autoresponder you can generate of list of names and email addresses of people who have purchased the product from your web site, or a list of people interested in finding more information about the product. You can use this list to send them information about product updates or to send information about new products you are promoting. This is an easy way to advertise, but you must do so legally. SPAM is illegal. Again, do the research and learn the legal way to do your e-mail marketing.

Track and Record

This is something most new affiliates fail to do when they first start out. It is the simple concept of keeping track of where your traffic is coming from and what areas that you promoted to are generating the most sales. In this way you can see where most of your business is coming from and turn up the heat in those areas to generate more sales. Keeping track of your traffic also will tell you what areas you have promoted to that is not generating any sales or low sales. You can then either abandon these areas if you have tried all promotion methods, or increase promoting there. Do your research - there are some excellent software resources to automate this process.

Network With Other Affiliates

As an affiliate, especially one who is getting started, it is a great idea to network with another affiliates. This is especially beneficial if the other affiliate is a seasoned veteran of sales. The amount of information that you will learn from them cannot be read within any book. Make us of the online forums, teleconferences, mp3's and provided by seasoned veterans of making money online.

With these tips in mind, now is the time to move forward and become the affiliate marketing success story.

10 Profit Boosting Tips To Increase The Success Of Your Affiliate Program

1. Develop credible, benefit rich ad copy, along with a well designed site to increase your sign ups, and also your affiliates' conversion rates.

2. Submit your affiliate program to directories that list affiliate programs.

These directories attract lots of people interested in joining affiliate programs, and will increase your sign ups by giving you good ongoing promotion of your affiliate program.

3. Pay your affiliates well for promoting your products.

Offering your affiliates a high commission rate for their referrals of your products will increase the number of affiliates that join your affiliate program and also help you to better compete with other businesses for affiliates.

To make your affiliate program even more appealing to your visitors, pay residual commissions if you sell a product or service that your customers pay for on an ongoing basis such as webhosting or access to your private members only site.

In addition, you can increase your sign ups by making your affiliate program two-tier, where your affiliates earn commissions on their own referrals and also on the referrals of affiliates they've personally referred to your affiliate program.

4. Track the sales you get from your affiliates fairly and accurately.

Track phone orders and mail in orders. Only offer payment options to your customers that your affiliates will get paid a commission on if they refer that customer to you.

In addition, pay your affiliates promptly for the sales they refer to you. Don't make your affiliates wait months to receive their checks from you or set minimum payment requirements that are too high for the majority of your affiliates to meet.

5. Provide your affiliates with resources that they can use to get more sales of your products such as ads, banners, button ads, and sample recommendations.

Also include promotional items such as marketing courses that your affiliates can use to promote your products or ebooks that they can rebrand with their affiliate URL.

If you write articles allow your affiliates to run these in their ezines or post them on their sites with their affiliate URLs in your resource box.

6. Answer any questions you get about your affiliate program from your visitors or affiliates as quickly as you can.

Remember that nothing will turn your visitors or affiliates off of your affiliate program faster than an unanswered email. Strive to answer all your emails quickly and in a professional and friendly manner.

7. Provide ways for your affiliates to network with each other.

You could provide a message board or chat room where your affiliates can interact with one another, and learn more about how to successfully promote your products.

Your message boards or chat rooms will also provide you with an excellent chance to show your support for your affiliates and to help them to get started marketing your products with your own tips and advice.

8. Give special recognition to your top earning affiliates by giving them bonuses for the sales they bring you or by paying them a special higher commission based on their performance.

9. Publish an affiliates only newsletter.

Your newsletter will help you to successfully provide your affiliates with tips and techniques that they can use to get more sales of your products.

Publishing your newsletter will also help you to keep your affiliates up to date on any new products you've added that your affiliates can promote, and can help you to increase your profits by notifying your affiliates when you're running a special sale or promotion.

10.Show your appreciation of your top affiliates by mentioning them, their sites, and strategies they use to promote your products in your newsletter.

This will provide you with an effective way to increase their loyalty to your program while providing your other affiliates with excellent tips and strategies for them to use to successfully promote your products.

Secrets of Super Affiliates

Have you ever wondered why it is very difficult for you to make a headway in the affiliate marketing game? Why have you signed up for so many programs with so much expectations and yet you have never being able to make a dime out of them all while some people are screaming about them making over $5,000 in the same program you signed for?

These people called "super affiliates" are just ordinary people like you but they do things differently from the rest of the crowd. They see the game from a different angle and they play it with a different strategy. How then do these super affiliates play their game?

The first strategy super affiliates adopt, is that instead of sending traffic to the site of the program/ product they are promoting, send it to theirs. You see, most people advertise their affiliate sites which people will go to and never buy anything.

Super affiliates understand that people are not inclined to buy anything at their first contact with the product, that they will need to be contacted on so many occasions before they can make the precious purchase. Super affiliates use this as an edge over their competitors.

When they drive traffic to their sites, they entice them to join their opt-in list by offering them something "nice" in return. After joining the list, the people can then be advertised to as long as the super affiliates want and so long the subscribers are not complaining.

So, it is very important for you to know that if you want to make it big in the affiliate game, you must have your own opt-in list. Stop spending money to send traffic away, instead bring them to your site and make them join your list by any means, it is very IMPORTANT.

Super affiliates do get to know the product they promote inside out. That is another advantage they exploit over their competitors. They buy the product they want to promote and they digest all the contents of the product so that they will be able to tell their prospects what is in it for them.

How many times have you signed up to promote a product you don't even know about? Do you think if a sales person turns up at your door to tell you of a product, he cannot even tell its usefulness to you, will you buy from such a person? No! That is why some people will not buy whatever you promote, because they don't really know what it will do for them and what it has done for you the promoter.

Get to know what you are promoting so that you can tell your prospects what the product is all about and how it can be of help to them. Your own personal testimonies matters a lot because it is what will motivate them to buy from you.

Another super affiliate's game plan is that they stand out from the crowd.

Hello! How many times have you seen hundreds of people advertising the same product using same banners, classifieds and reports/ articles? If a prospect had seen so many of those at other sites, what gives you the impression that he will buy from you?

Super affiliates understand this, so they write their own classifieds, use their own banners and also write special reports to promote their programs.

Prospects always get drawn to those who are doing something different from the maddening crowd. So if you want to be upgraded to the level of a super affiliate, STAND OUT!

The EXTRA also stands out make one a super affiliate. They add extra(s) to the product they are promoting. People always want to make purchase from those who offered more value for their money.

Let's assume ten affiliates approach you with the same product and nine of them offer the same thing and the last one chose to offer some extra bonuses to the product you are buying at the same amount. Which one will you probably buy from? The last one of course!

You can adopt this method too by offering a free report, course, freebie you got of the Net, an ebook or another product that is what the value of the one you are promoting. You have to offer MORE if you wish to sell MORE.

Lastly another super affiliate game plan I will wan to talk about, is that super affiliates always promote products in their chosen field.

How many times have you promoted some products in a field you don't even know a hoot about? When you promote products in your own niche, you will find out that you will be more enthusiastic about it and even if you have not gone through the product before, you can easily recommend it to people.

The manner you will say something about it will just look as if you have already gone through use the product. Marketing a product in your own niche market, will always give you an added advantage because it is your area of expertise. never bother looking at which area is HOT!

Just check your own niche market out and then promote any product you find adopting all the strategies highlighted above and see what becomes of you. If you happen to be a tennis buff, and you happen to be promoting golf products, which you don't know anything about? :(

What if a prospect decides to ask you a question about golf? :( Do you think you will have anything to say? That is why it is important to stay in your own niche.

I believe you too can become a SUPER affiliate in no mean time, if you will adopt the game plan mentioned above. If others are doing it, why not you?

Never get discouraged by the mistakes of yesterday, look up to tomorrow with bright hope. NOW is the to get started!

Backend Profit Secrets and Viral Marketing

Once you truly understand the power of backend profits, you'll explode your marketing results and create an unstoppable viral machine.

The techniques I will reveal to you have often been taught in many marketing courses and articles...but they are still underutilized because of two words -- "tunnel vision."

Backend profits means the additional income that you earn from a customer. The first purchase from a customer is the front end profits while the second purchase and so forth will be your backend.

The really good marketers understand that the most money will be made on the backend.

Here are a couple reasons why:

You can charge higher prices for backend products because you've already built a relationship with your customer.

They already know the quality of your product and of your customer service. You no longer have to convince them that you're credible and that your information is good.

You only have to convince them that your backend product is higher quality than your front end product and that they NEED the backend product.

Trust is one of the single most important components of selling. You can earn that trust by providing a good front end product.

Most marketers do not truly understand the power of the backend and that's a fact.

I know because I see very few affiliate programs which pay higher than 50% commission.

Think about this for a minute.

Let's say you sell your product for $50 and you give 50% commission. You have 5 affiliates who each make 10 sales each.

You pocket $1,250 after paying commissions. You now have 50 customers. Five of them end up purchasing your $100 backend product for a profit of $500. Total profits is $1,750 for you.

Now let's consider giving away 75% commission to your affiliates.

By giving away higher commissions, you get 10 affiliates instead of the 5. Ten affiliates making 10 sales each at $50 will make you $1,250 -- which is the same front end profits as before.

Now you have 100 customers and make 10 backend sales for $1,000 profit.

So how did you end up making more when you increased your affiliate commissions by 25 percent? You made it on the backend.

Here's what is happening behind the curtain as you increase your commissions.

You gain more affiliates and subscribers as those affiliates send you more traffic to your site.

Those affiliates are happier with their higher paycheck because you gave them higher commissions. Therefore, they will continue to send traffic to your site.

This cycle increases your traffic over time as you gain more customers, more affiliates and more subscribers.

It's the ultimate viral marketing machine!

More subscribers equal more profits. More customers equals more profits. More affiliates equals more profits.

So is all that worth a hit on your front end profits?

Yes!

The problem most people have is they can't stand to see their affiliates making more than them. Tunnel vision keeps them from seeing all the extra subscribers, customers and affiliates which could be theirs.

Please remember one thing about running your affiliate program.

A 75% reduction in profits is better than a 100% reduction, which is the case if the affiliate had not made ANY sale.

In summary, you should create an affiliate program for your front end product which gives away a majority of the profits.

You should also spend your time creating multiple backend products.

What's a Mini Affiliate Site?

In this article I'm going to cover two specific marketing tactics, yet they do however tie in together. I'm going to show you how Niche Marketing can be very effective and how Mini Affiliate Sites can earn you a very good ongoing income, if done well. I will also show you how to promote your Mini Affiliate Sites for the best result.

Niche Marketing is the concept of targeting a specific group or audience. For example, have a look at www.lurenet.com, they target a specific audience/product, Fishing Lures, and do it well. I know the people behind crystallures.com as I did some marketing work for them. They wanted me to target a specific audience, which I did, and I got a phenomenal response.

Not only did the customers buy the Fishing Lures, they told their friends to as well. And to me, that's the power of Niche Marketing. Targeting an audience that has no interest in what you sell is not only a waste of your time, but also your money.

Here's another example of what I mean. Say you have an Internet Marketing book and decided to promote it in Pay Per Click Search Engines. But there's a big problem: the keyword "Internet" gets over One Million searches a month. On the other hand, "Internet Marketing" only gets half that number. Which keyword would you choose?

If you said "Internet" I'm sorry, but more than likely you are going to be disappointed in the results you get. You see, the term "Internet" might get more searches, but it's not TARGETED. For example, if someone types in "Internet," they could want a range of products, and more often than not, it's something that has nothing to do with Internet Marketing.

But if someone types in the term "Internet Marketing" they are being more specific and are actually requesting to view information solely on Internet Marketing. It's a simple explanation, I know, but it does help a lot of people. Of course, this example will work with any other keyword.

If you're wondering what this has to do with Mini Affiliate Sites, I'll explain now. Mini Affiliate Sites are small sites that are two or three pages long and promote maybe one or two affiliate programs.

These sites have been proven so effective that they have become my full time Internet Marketing job. The key is finding a great affiliate program and making a site around it. Fortunately, after spending countless hours of wasted time, I found a product I can use in my everyday life as well as make an informative Mini Affiliate Site around.

Marketing a Mini Affiliate Site is easy, or should I say, easier when you know how to get the best response.

Search Engines, Pay Per Click Search Engines, Articles and Discussion Groups are your best bet. The reason I used the word bet is because sometimes Mini Affiliate Sites can be a big gamble. That's why a lot of people, when they create their Mini Affiliate Sites, use free domain names and free web hosting. While this may seem like a good idea, it can sometimes lead to your downfall. Here's why:

1. Search Engines frown on this sort of practice and are more likely to link a site with a keyword filled domain name. For example, a good keyword domain name would look like this, Freeinternetmarketinghelp.com.

2. Free sites don't build trust, and with Mini Affiliate Sites, you need to build as much trust as you can in a much shorter space.

In conclusion, if you're going to make a Mini Affiliate Site, find a product you use and trust and create a site around the product. Make sure you target only the people who could use or want your product, and most importantly, TRACK ALL YOUR advertising campaigns.

Super Affiliate Strategies Part 2

If you are an affiliate that is trying to promote an affiliate program, then I don't need to tell you it's not a walk in the park, unless you know what to do. With that in mind, this is one of the main reasons I decided to write a sequel article called Super Affiliate Strategies Part 2. In this article, we are going to talk about a few ways that you can effectively promote your affiliate program.

Articles

Writing articles is another great way to promote your affiliate program and it won't cost you a cent. All you have to do is write articles that are associated with the affiliate program you are promoting. At the end of each article, will be the best time to promote your affiliate program. Make sure that the affiliate program you are promoting is relevant to the article, you'd be suprised at how many people get this wrong.

Just to give you an idea, I previously wrote an article that was entitled "The Wrong Email Format Can Destroy Your Offer". In this particular article I discussed the advantages and disadvantages of text and html email formats. At the end of the article I presented an autoresponder that is capable of performing both formats.

Custom Error Pages

If you are not using custom error pages to help lost visitors, then you should. Believe it or not up to 10% of your visitors are going to see an error page and by having custom error pages that will help your lost visitor navigate to a destination of your choice. Up to 80% of visitors that receive an error page will leave your web site completely, a custom error page is great way to keep your visitor on your web site, by pointing the way for them.

Having a custom error page is the perfect opportunity to present to your lost visitor an itemized list of your affiliate programs that you are promoting. Instead of having them leave your web site all together, just point them in the direction, but towards the affiliate program you are promoting. Having a custom error page is an effective and powerful way to make the best of your ugly error pages!

Even though this is an effective strategy, you don't want to confuse your lost visitor with too many options. If you do have too many options on your custom error page, this strategy may backfire on you. So, I recommend that you limit the amount affiliate programs on your custom error page.

Automated Messages

If you are currently using any type of automated message, then you would consider promoting your affiliate program with them. Promoting your affiliate program in your automated messages is a great way to make additional affiliate sales and it works well too. When I say an automated message, I mean any type of automated message, whether it is an invoice, newsletter confirmation, faq, etc.

The trick is to promote an affiliate program that is associated with the message. For instance, if you have a newsletter about web marketing tips and you send your new subscribers an automated confirmation message. Then you would want to promote a product that was related to the theme of your newsletter, in this case, it would be web marketing.

The same can be done with an invoice automated message, in fact, it works very effectively. Why? Because they have already bought something from you and they are still in the mood to buy. By feeding on your buyer's impulse, you can literally watch your affiliate sales skyrocket. You need to make sure that the affiliate program you are promoting is associated with your invoice message, or this strategy will not work effectively.

Looking for Success as an Online Affiliate? It's All in the Numbers

If you have been a home based business entrepreneur for any length of time at all you know by now that there are certain immutable laws that govern success. You know the following:

You have to learn the techniques of marketing your product or service. This usually comes from a combination of reading the volumes of information your are provided with and personal help from your upline coach or mentor. You then have to advertise aggressively. Some of this is through the various online services such as cost per click for higher search engine placement, through link exchange, through the purchase of targeted email lists, or numerous other types of online advertising. Some of the advertising is free and some can become quite expensive. You can also advertise offline through personal relationships, by distributing business cards and flyers, or by taking out classified ads in newspapers and magazines.

You have discovered that you absolutely must have your own website. If you haven?t yet thrown in the towel and decided this is all too overwhelming , and you probably haven?t or you wouldn?t be reading this, then you know you have to find ways to get people to your website because real success in an online business is all about numbers.

Liars may use statistics, but statistics don?t lie. You?ll only be successful in getting a small portion of the nearly 1 billion internet users to visit your website, and of those who do visit your website only a small portion will spend serious time looking at the business opportunity. And only a small portion of that group will actually ?take the plunge? and sign up.

So it really is all about numbers. According to the most recent U. S. Central Intelligence Agency Fact Book, in the next two years internet users will increase by 516 million worldwide. That?s almost double the current total population of the United States. So the flip side of the funneling down effect based on the information I just provided is that you?re not dealing with a fixed number.

On the contrary, if you do the arithmetic you?ll see that 30,000 new internet users enter the world of cyberspace every hour of every day. So instead of the numbers game being an enemy to our attempts to cash in on the online business opportunity, it is an asset, and one that is growing almost exponentially. The old saying ?he who hesitates has lost? cannot be more applicable.

Too many online business prospectors lose out because they become impatient. They want that $4000 check this month. They also lose out because they become overwhelmed with the learning curve. Some lose out because they become victims of over choice and spend themselves out of opportunity by trying to do too many things. They either try to put too many products or services on their shelves (getting into too many online businesses) or they get involved in too many advertising campaigns (while paying too many advertising companies) who are also representing thousands of other businesses.

My Dad was in the online business 50 years ago. He pumped gas and oil through rubber hose lines so gas stations could have gas for their customers and homes could have fuel oil to heat them in the winter to keep their residents warm. He taught me a valuable lesson about the online business. He once said to me, ?Dave, it?s more important for me to make sure my (huge underground) tanks have gas and oil in them than it is make sure my customers? tanks don?t run out. Because if I don?t have fuel I can?t help them even if they do run dry.?

What does this have to do with the online business numbers game. If I don?t take time to check my own tank occasionally, if discouragement and disillusionment sets in and my tank runs dry, if in effect I become overwhelmed and quit because the task seems too formidable, I lose out on a money making opportunity my Dad could not have dreamed would ever be possible. Thirty thousand new potential customers every hour, which calculates out to 720,000 every day, or 21.6 million every month! No, you won?t get all of them, but even if you get one one thousandth of one percent of just the new customers per month, which doesn?t account for 934 million current users, you will have added 72 people to your downline every month.

Sound unrealistic? Maybe you can do better than one one thousandth of one percent. You do the math and then figure out for yourself a strategy whereby you can tap into this enormous wealth potential.

Content Really is King

It is every affiliate's wish to have unique site content absent of any re-write or editing restrictions, effectively content with an "open license." Many sources do exist for content that can't be changed, but there are very few sources which allow an affiliate to manipulate the article and make it unique and specific to their site(s). However, this trend could be changing in the near future.

There is a war between content sites and sites which purely provide product lists. Google, for the moment, has clearly indicated that sites providing unique content will prove victorious in the battle. This means affiliates who want to compete on Google need to have unique content for their sites or risk vanishing into that ever increasing special black hole Google seems to reserve for affiliates.

So where does an affiliate get unique content from? Some affiliates can write their own, but it's generally a minority that has the time or desire to do so. A few pay for content to be produced by freelance writers on networks such as Elance (www.elance.com) or by professional copy writing services such as InfoSearch Media (www.infosearchmedia.com).

Others are lucky enough to get content from their merchants. That is until the merchants realize that distributing their own content is only a short term gain for long term oblivion. The content?s value is diluted and degraded due to being repeated and copied to a point where the merchant loses control of it. Affiliates absent of the gratuitous merchant turn to sites such as Ezine Articles (www.ezinearticles.com) and ARA Content (www.aracontent.com) where the content is free, but can't be edited or changed. In most cases, content provided from these sources must also retain links and/or credits to the author as well as the source site.

The obvious solution is to have merchants develop content specific to their affiliates, no credits required, no back links requested (well other than affiliate tracked and tagged ones that is), the right to edit, cut, slice, dice and the expressed permission to generally edit the content to make it unique.

The niche of "open license" content has but a few players in the arena. For example, Wikiepedia (www.wikipedia.org) while not a merchant, does allow articles to be re-written; however, this permission does come with a few strings attached as they apply a fair number of requirements in order to use the content. Various Affiliate Management firms now provide in "open license" house content development for their affiliates. These services should place them as leading contenders in the affiliate content arena. At the end of the day though, each individual affiliate still needs to sit down and work out how to make the content unique to them if they want to win their battle with Google.

Affiliate Programs and Picking the Best One!

Okay, so you have been looking at affiliate programs for a while now. Your inbox is filling up with all these advertisements and you just don?t know how to pick the right program.

How do you know which program is going to bring the best profit?

Well, I personally believe that a lot of the income is created from the effort an affiliate marketer puts into a program. But I do have a few pointers as to picking the best one.

1. Commission. You need a program that will pay you a good commission rate. It should pay you at least 20% of each sale. A good rate is 50% and anything above that is ideal. You should also look for how often they pay. Some programs pay you twice a month and some only once a month. Most programs also only pay you when you have earned a base amount.

2. Attraction. Is the website attractive? Or will your customers leave your site without even reading. The site needs to easy to read, but not boring. Also you don?t want to pick a site that is full of garbage, advertising an array of different subjects. Your site needs to filled with common ground. Also make sure the sight doesn?t seem to be screaming for attention (lots of large, bold lettering).

3. Support. What is the support for your program like? Do they have a good list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), a contact email address with a quick response (24 - 72 hours is good)? Any more than 3 days for a response is too long. Some programs even offer live chat. Now that is good!

4. Your Statistics. The program should offer an automated and immediate reaction to your statistics. They should automatically contact you when you receive a client, prospect, lead, customer or when you make a sale, it should also be ready to view in your downline as soon as you have the knowledge of the sale etc.

5. Incentives. Does the program offer free gifts, tools and advertising content (banners, pop-ups, email letters, articles etc.) It is important to have marketing tools to keep track of business and change things that may not work for you. Advertising is also important your traffic won?t come from no where, And gifts are a good bonus for your customers as well as learning from the gifts yourself. Usually the gifts are products to help you with your business.

6. Monthly Reports. Every good program will have news and training updates sent to your inbox so you can learn what works best for the program and what the top affiliates of the program are doing. You should also be able to read this on their website.

7. Reviews. Sometimes you will find that the program you are looking at has reviews in the search engines. All you have to do is enter the name of the program in the search engine form followed by ?reviews?. For example if you want to read about Strong Future International (SFI) you would type ?Strong Future International Reviews? and click ?search?. Select any item that describes what you are looking for, and read what people think.

It is important to do your homework before you dive into anything. Learn as much as you and make sure you feel comfortable with your decision before going ahead. Remember that you will not make money overnight??..Some of the best affiliates spent 3 years or more promoting before they got where they are today.

Online Affiliate Programs - 6 Must Read Reasons to Join Them

You must have been exposed to the online hype, and the fact is starting an online business is a great way to make an extra income. There are many ways to make money online, one of them, is joining online affiliate programs...

Here are six great reasons (only) why this could be exactly what you are looking for. I respect your time, so I?ll keep each point brief. Here we go...

1. Your Products

Many people don?t have their own products to market online, and even if they do, they would have to handle the shipment of the products to every corner of the world, or they would narrow their market to specific areas only.

Online affiliate programs provide a wide variety of quality products, which meet every customer?s needs, and you can market those products world wide without worrying about their shipment. All you need is to refer people to your affiliate websites. Any orders taken from that website are automatically handled by the company on your behalf.

2. Your Income Potential

Besides the commission you can earn from direct products selling, there?s another powerful way to make a great income online - residual income, and this is by referring other people to join the opportunity. This way you can build a network of people where you make a commission for each sale they make...

Some companies limit you to one level of sponsored affiliates, which mean, you only get commission for the sales of the first level of people you refer, however, MANY other great companies do NOT limit your income potential, actually, it?s infinite deep network where you can enjoy passive income.

3. Your Investment

The great news is ? you are NOT required to put any money down in order to join an online affiliate opportunity, you can join for FREE! Some of them might claim that you must buy their products (you should avoid those...), even though I believe in the concept of buying from your own store, real opportunities should not force you to perform nor limit your potential, so it is all up to you.

Of course, any kind of business requires some kind of investment, generally speaking it?s a trade off between time and money, the more you are willing to invest, the less time you need to build a solid business, and vise-versa. So it is all up to you.

4. Your Business Training

Some of the great online business will train you for FREE. Do NOT take this lightly, if you are serious about making real income, you will need proper training to build your business effectively, this will save you time AND money!

The information I have learned is priceless! I learned how to master the science of marketing, and it was easy for people like me (I?m a computer software engineer who knew NOTHING about marketing!) to build a successful business. As I already mentioned, this training is available to you for FREE even before they see a penny from you!

5. Your Business Needs

This is extremely important. To have a successful online business, you must have the proper tools like tracking software, websites, follow-up manager and more. Without those tools, you are shooting in the dark and you?ll waste your time and money.

The serious online affiliate opportunities will provide you with those must have tools, and will guide you exactly how to use them in your favor. Again, FREE of charge!

6. Your Bottom Line

I?m well aware to the fact that the bottom line of any business, including online business, is making money. However, there are issues beyond that, those are the issues behind your desire to make money, either to spend more time with your family, get out of debt, own your own home or you name it...

Affiliate programs can be a great way to achieve whatever reasons you might have that triggered you to search for ways to make an extra income. Just make sure you join a great opportunity that is willing to invest in your success, because your success means also theirs!

Allow me to close with a quote by Robert Kiosaki, the author of the book titled "Rich Dad Poor Dad". Mr. Kiosaki, a self made millionaire who also works in network marketing and who opened my eyes through his astonishing books, said the following:

"Is your business or the company you work for going to do well in a depression? If not, start a part time business. Our businesses are designed to do well in a good economy and do even better in a depression. A part-time business that will do well in a down economy is a network marketing business. During a depression, many more people will be very receptive to joining a network marketing company".

Online affiliate companies are the new cutting edge network marketing companies, which makes the whole process much easier.

Things To Test On Your Website To Increase Sales

The Internet is powerful selling tool. Never before has been easier to start a business ,be able to reach out to literally millions of potential customers and make your business succeed. Yet time has taught us that there is much more to success that simply having a website or using these tools.

A lot of money can be made by promoting product and service through website ,however in order to promote them effectively you will need to be committed to making it work.

Most affiliate program will give us a unique URL ,though these methods work ( especially ezine advertising ) they are limited to how long the ad stays visible. We can not generate long term promotion by just submitting ads using that URL.

A website of our own. Promoting affiliate programs whether it be mlms or any other affiliate program where you are given a unique URL is limiting without a website of our very own. There are literally thousands of ways to promote if we have our own website. Therefore it is imperative that you decide how serious you are about your business and to what level you wish to take your business.

That's why we're devoting this issue to giving you the top six tests you can run on your web site right now. These tests are quick and easy to implement and can start increasing your sales by 400%... 700%... even 1,000%... in less than 48 hours!

Bottom line... testing is the ONLY way to discover what works --and what doesn't -- on your web site ,and it's the BEST way to start increasing your sales exponentially.

And if you take the plunge and test even just one of the following six things ,you'll learn just how true this is... especially when you start seeing a dramatic improvement to *your* bottom line!

Test #1: Offer ONE product or service on your homepage.

We've found that offering fewer products in one place with more copy describing those products ALWAYS translates into higher sales. It's all about focus. Instead of trying to please *everyone* who visits your web site by offering a large range of products with minimal detail about each one ,if you offer just one product (or one set of related products) ,you can really focus on one key set of benefits and answer *all* of the possible questions and doubts your visitors might have about your product.

And you don't have to stop selling your other products -- you can always offer them to your customers from other web pages or by using follow-up offers .

Test #2: Reposition your opt-in offer to BOOST your opt-ins and build a bigger list of loyal subscribers.

Your opt-in offer is your tool for gathering your customers' e-mail addresses. In exchange for their address ,you might offer them a free report containing valuable information or a regular free newsletter. Your opt-in is your mechanism for building your e-mail list , which allows you to regularly keep in touch with your subscribers ,build relationships of trust and loyalty ,and sell them your products or services.

Test placing your opt-in in the "first fold" of your salesletter -- the area of screen first visible to a visitor before they scroll down the page. If you have a long salesletter ,you should test placing it within your second "page" of text -- after you've grabbed your visitors' attention by identifying a problem they have and established your credibility by impressing them with your credentials , experience ,and glowing testimonials from happy customers.

You should also test placing your opt-in offer on EVERY page of your web site so it's always in front of your visitors ,and try using a "hover ad" (see below). The more sign-up opportunities you provide, the more subscribers you're likely to get. Test it and see!

Test #3: Add impact to your promotions with "hover ads"

I'm sure everyone's familiar with pop-ups. They're the small windows containing a special offer or other information that sometimes "pop up" when you visit a web site.

Love them or hate them ,pop-ups have been a very useful online marketing tool for years. However, because a percentage of Internet users disliked them ,Google ,AOL ,Netscape ,and others developed pop-up blocking software to combat them But that was before we discovered a very impressive technology that actually lets you use ads that BEHAVE like pop-ups ,but that are NOT pop-ups -- so they don't get blocked. They're called "hover ads" and they're well worth testing on your site.

In fact ,when we tested adding a hover ad to our site ,sales increased by 162%! They're effective because they put important information, such as your opt-in offer or a special time limited promotion ,right in front of your targeted visitors.

Test #4: Establish a problem in your copy and show how you

can solve it.

In the first couple of paragraphs that appear on your homepage ,you need to go into more detail about the problem you introduced in your headline -- showing your audience that you relate to them. (Only when your audience feels you understand their problem will they feel confident that you can solve it.)

Once the problem is established ,you can then begin introducing your product or service as the solution to this problem. By emphasizing exactly *how* your product or service will solve the reader's problem ,you are guaranteed to see a boost in sales!

Test # 5 :Focus on your readers... not yourself.

The most successful salescopy focuses on the reader. Too often ,business owners neglect this simple golden rule.Look carefully at your salescopy. Is it filled with references to "I," "me," and "we"? Instead of using sentences like ,"I designed my time-management software with the busy homeowner in mind ," try "Your new time -management software will free up hours of time for you to spend with your family." See how much more powerful that is? Try searching on "I," "me," and "our" in your salescopy and replace them with "you" and "your."

It's very important that your salescopy instills a sense of urgency in your visitors ,compelling them to buy NOW. The best place to do this is towards the end of your salesletter ,near the call to action (when you ask for the sale). Here are a few of the most effective ways to create a sense of urgency. Try testing each one against your current copy:

- Offer a limited-time price discount offer where

visitors must buy before a certain date in order to

qualify for the discount.

- Offer additional bonuses for free if they buy within a

certain time frame.

- Offer only a limited quantity of your products or

services.

Test #6: Boost your product's desirability by adding images.

Images of your products make them seem more tangible and "real" to your visitors and are a powerful sales tool. In fact ,our testing shows that you can increase sales by more than 10% just by adding product images. But sometimes revealing what the product is too early in the sales process can kill the sale -- you may need to highlight the product benefits and value before you reveal exactly what it is. Test placing images near the top of the page against placing them near the call to action at the bottom (where you're asking for the sale). You should also test adding images to your order page ,and test the response to using no images at all. By carefully analyzing sales during each test ,you'll learn exactly whereto place product images for maximum impact.

Five Common Mistakes Affiliate Marketers Make

Affiliate Marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways to earn a living online. Affiliate programs give everybody a chance to make a profit through the internet. Since these affiliate-marketing programs are relatively easy to join, implement and pays a commission on a regular basis, more and more people are now willing to join in this lucrative business.

However, there are also pitfalls in the Affiliate Marketing business. These common mistakes may cost affiliate marketers a large chunk of their profit everyday unless they are avoided or rectified. Here, we will enumerate the five most common mistakes that Affiliate Marketers make. We will also discuss how they can be avoided.

Mistake #1: Choosing the wrong affiliate products

Most people want to earn from affiliate marketing as soon as possible. In their haste to earn much in a short span of time, they tend to choose a bandwagon product; one that they think is a 'hot' item. They will choose a product that is in demand without considering if that product appeals to them. However, this is not a wise move.

Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, you should choose a product in which you are truly interested. For any venture to succeed, you should take the time to plan and map out your actions. Pick a product that appeals to you. Do some research about that product and determine if they are in demand. Choose a product that you will promote passionately.

Mistake #2: Joining too many affiliate programs

Since affiliate-marketing programs are so easy to join, you might find that you have nothing to lose if you join multiple affiliate programs. For many, this may seem a great option as it may provide you with multiple sources of income. However, joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at once may prevent you from giving the full attention that each of your programs deserve.

Thus, the maximum potential of your affiliate program will not be realized and the income produced will be disappointing. The best way to get excellent results is by joining one program that pays at least 40% commission. Then, give it your best effort by promoting it enthusiastically. As soon as it is making a reasonable profit then you can now join another program.

Mistake #3: Not buying the product or using the service

As an affiliate, your job is to promote a product or service effectively and convincingly and find customers. For you to effectively promote and recommend any product or service, you must be able to relay to the customers its benefits. One common mistake that affiliate marketers do is failing to try the product and service. Thus, they are not able to promote and recommend the product or service convincingly and fail to create a desire in the customer to buy or avail of the product or service.

Try the product or service personally, before you sign up as an affiliate and see if it delivers what it promises. If you are using the product or service personally then you can credibly promote its advantages and benefits. Your prospects will feel the sincerity in your copy and will likely purchase.

Mistake #4: Signing up for low-paying commissions

Although affiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to make some profit online, not all affiliate programs pay high commissions. There are programs that can pay as low as 1-2%. You should not short change yourself. Avoid these low paying affiliate programs. Look for an affiliate program that have a 30% or higher commission payouts. Another way to create income in affiliate marketing is looking for programs that give residual payouts.

Mistake #4: Limiting your strategies to Non-viral marketing only

Viral marketing is one of the most effective ways to increase awareness for a product or service. It is very useful in rapidly relaying the message to a large number of people. Most affiliate marketers do not use viral marketing to the detriment of their sales results. If you want to promote a product then you should really make an effort in promoting it. Even though you are only an affiliate promoting the product of another, you should exploit all means to find customers as this will translate to more profit for you too. Use viral marketing to build a larger consumer base and bring in the profit.

Mistake #5: Disposable Customers

As an affiliate, you work hard to find prospects and convince them to purchase or avail of the product or service. However, what happens after that customer purchases the product? Should you dispose of that customer and find a new prospect?

That would be a critical error. The best thing to do is to keep that customer available for you to expose your other offers. Do not throw them away as soon as the make a purchase. Find a way to capture their email addresses so that you can promote you offers to them again. Building a good customer list is one of the effective strategies to increase your profit.

Affiliate marketers make these five common mistakes; and you should do everything to avoid making the same pitfalls. Take the time to analyze your affiliate marketing efforts and see if you are on the right track. With the right strategies and techniques, you can maximize the potential of your affiliate-marketing program and earn higher profit.

Back-End Selling With Affiliate Marketing

More and more people are getting into online businesses for a variety of reasons. First, because the Internet provides a wide market for businessmen and selling through the Net is often synonymous to selling their products to the world. Second, because starting an online business requires only a portion of the start-up cost that you will need if you are to set up an actual business establishment. And third, because you would virtually gain more profit online, considering your wide market and your savings.

One aspect of online business today that many people, businessmen and non-businessman alike, are willing to get into is affiliate marketing. Simply said, affiliate marketing is a relationship between a merchant, who has the need to sell and advertise his products, and his affiliates, who are willing to post the merchant's ads in their own websites. The affiliates get paid whenever an action is taken by a visitor on the ad?either in a pay-per-click, pay-per-lead, or pay-per-sale basis.

The selling point of affiliate marketing is that it gets everybody benefited not only a little but a lot. The merchant saves a lot because he only has to pay whenever an action is made on his ad. On the side of the affiliates, they simply earn a living even without trying to. And they get all these benefits by simply getting involved in affiliate marketing. What more if they take affiliate marketing more seriously?

Some people claim that affiliate marketing simply won't work for serious online businesses. They're wrong. Affiliate marketing, if taken more seriously, would translate to larger profits. And yes, both for the merchant and the affiliates. How? Why not get into a tried and tested marketing method of getting more profits?back-end selling!

Back-end selling is simply the selling you do after your initial sale; and that means selling another product to the same customer. The product you sell after the first sale is called, for obvious reasons, the back-end product. Back-end selling has long been proven to be effective in boosting a business's sale, not only for online businesses but for traditional businesses as well. Why? Because if your product is good, you would generally get the trust of your customer after your first sale, and if you have another product that he likes or needs, there is a great chance that he will also buy that product from you. As a businessman or marketer, that means additional profits just from a single customer!

If back-end selling works for traditional and many online marketing strategies, there's no reason why it shouldn't work with affiliate marketing! And it works even better as back-end selling with affiliate marketing may work both for the merchant and the affiliates. It's really just a matter of knowing how to efficiently carry the back-end selling process.

For the merchants:

As a merchant in an affiliate network, you really won't have to concern yourself with the advertising of your initial product as your affiliates should already be doing this for you. This leaves you with enough time and energy to focus your attention on back-end selling. There are a number of ways for you to promote your back-end products to your customers. If you have no idea what these methods are, we provide you with some tried and tested methods in this site.

? Upon ordering the first product from your site, ask your customer if he wants to receive newsletters about your future products. Newsletters are good media for promoting your back-end products.

? Send your customers a thank you letter and try to mention your back-end product at the end of the letter (works both for snail mails and emails).

? Give your customers a call and ask them if they're happy about your product. Then, try to inform them about your back-end products.

? Most online magazines have "customers only" portions in their websites that only subscribers of their printed magazines can access. You can also have a site like this and place your ads for your back-end products there.

? If you're selling electronic products like e-books, find a way to add a link that would direct your customers to your site or have an ad about your back-end product inserted somewhere on the pages.

? Redirect your customers to a "thank you" page after their first purchase and insert in there some of your back-end product ads.

? Insert a flyer or brochure about your back-end products on the package that will be shipped to your customers.

For the affiliates:

Just when you think that back-end selling would only work for the merchants, here I am to negate your thoughts. Back-end selling works as well for the affiliates as it worked for the merchants. And what will your back-end product be? You're affiliate products. Here are a few methods on how you can take advantage of back-end selling with affiliate marketing:

? If your visitor has signed up for a free newsletter on your site, give him a complementary email and have your ad for one of your affiliate products at the end of the mail.

? If your visitor has signed up for free email courses, find a way to insert your back-end affiliate products ads in some portion of each new email course.

? If your site has a download page, place an ad for your back-end product or a link to a page promoting your back-end product somewhere on the download page.

How To Make Affiliate Sales In 15 Minutes

If you are one of the 98.6% of affiliate members that never make one cent from affiliate sales or make small $5.00, $10.00 commissions, then this article is for you. Even if you are making nice checks, this will interest you.

You really can start to make affiliate sales in 15 minutes with Google Adwords.

Your ads will start appearing with 15 minutes for the keywords you have selected. If this has you scratching your head :o) I don't blame you. I was totally new to Adwords until I read about Chris Carpenter's experience in making $3,405 with just one ad in his very good ebook

You know those ads on the right side of the page of Google's search page? Well those are Adwords. You pay per click with the minimum at .05, which is less than Overture's .10 PPC. Placement of your ad is based on two factors, the Cost Per Click and your ad's Click Through Rate (CTR).

I have set my maximum CPC to .06 and the daily budget $5.00 until I see that the keywords I've selected are working and the affiliate program is making sales. To cut through a lot of learning curve you should find a niche keyword with Good Key Words or Word Tracker. The first is free and the second has a free trial. You can Also get some high paying Adword keywords (some Keywords pay $up to $80 per click!

The other is a software tool, Adword Analyzer.

It will find a list of related keywords, the number of searches per keyword and the number of advertising campaigns per keyword. Boy, do I love this software! I enter a keyword, say, mortgage, and it gives me all of the above in minutes. So you can find high traffic search terms that no one is buying Google Adwords for. Another use is to identify niches that are too competitive to enter. As you can imagine it will save money, time and most importantly find the search terms that you line up an affiliate for and start making money in minutes.

You see, that is the very essence of success with any affiliate program, finding a product that is hot, has little or no competition and developing an ad campaign for it.

The strategy that I use now is to find high paying keywords, buy a domain name with that keyword in it, create a simple landing page, add three Google Adsense ads (they allow up to three per page and don't forget to create Adsense channels for tracking) then I optimize the page with the keyword in the title, spread throughout the body (top, middle and bottom), add articles for content to other pages and create a new Adwords campaign to get some traffic started.

Then I will either buy or request reciprocal links from high relevant websites With PR4 and above. You buy links with PR5 and above for a reasonable amount. Do a search for Then watch my Adsense income build!

Google loves relevant content on your site or sites linking to it.

Another way to get listed in the top 10 or Google is writing articles. This is another article coming soon!

With Google Adwords you can get click-throughs within minutes and if targeted to the right prospect, sales in minutes.

10 Things WalMart Teaches About Affiliate Marketing

We already know about wal mart because of their ads in local papers, on billboards, on the radio and TV. So finding a local Wal Mart is easy, and so should it also be easy to find your web site. Although you may not need to use radio and TV advertisements, you should still use offline promotion such as business cards or direct mail. Naturally, you want other web sites to put your billboard ad onto theirs. So that's our first lesson on how Wal Mart can teach us effective affiliate marketing. Now let's visit a Wal Mart store.

Once we arrive at Wal Mart, we enter a huge parking lot. Your web site must also enable a lot of visitors. If your site is on a slow server, you may be losing customers. That's lesson #2.

As soon as we enter Wal Mart, we are welcomed by a Wal Mart greeter. This greeter not only welcomes us to the store, but also offers help in pointing out where to find what you're looking for. That's lesson 3a and 3b. Your site should welcome visitors and provide navigation to all the products and services you offer. You can do this by simply including a graphic on your page that says "Welcome, Click Here to find what you're looking for" and have that link go to your site map.

Beyond the greeter is a wide path that branches out to different areas of the store with banners overhead that tell you what you can find in those areas. Your site map should consist of main links, as well as sub-links to corresponding pages. Now we get to lesson 4, that each page of your site needs to have a topic, a main header, that defines what each page is about, as well as provide links, pathways to corresponding pages, because you'll notice that Wal-Mart arranges their store to group products that are similar. The hardware section is near the automotive center, housewares are near food items, lawn and garden items are near the hardware and pet supply areas, etc. But you can still get from one area to another.

As you browse the shelves, you see more than one type of item. If you're in the grocery section; for example, you'll see many different types of beans. Canned beans, dry beans, even beans from different companies. That's lesson #5. You should offer your site visitors more than one choice. If your site offers auto loans, for example, offer your visitors new auto loans, used auto loans, even auto refinancing loans. And, you may want to offer them more than one choice for each type of auto loan. Afterall, visitors came to your site because they are shopping around... so let them shop and choose from multiple options. Just remember not to stick cheese products in your automotive section!

Another thing you'll notice as you browse the shelves, which leads us to lesson #6... although the shelves are stocked full, it's still easy to pick out your favorite can of beans. This is because the shelves are stocked neatly and orderly. The ads you put onto your site should also be neat and orderly. Mixing in tall banners with short banners and having banners for totally different products and services can make shopping your site more difficult. For example, if you have a page about auto loans, you wouldn't want to put a tall auto loan banner right next to a short casino banner. Instead, put a tall auto insurance banner next to the tall auto loan banner.

As you roam the store, you frequently encounter employess who can help you find items. This goes back to lessons 3a and 3b. Each page of your site should have a help link to your site map, or you should have a site search.

Since Wal Mart makes it easy to find an employee to ask for assistance, that leads us to another lesson: Does you site offer customer service? Can visitors click on a button to ask you questions before they make a decision? Or do they simply exit your site?

Lesson #7: How many times have you heard announcements in Wal Mart? They frequently announce specials over their public address system. We are not suggesting that you force visitors to endure slow loading sound files. But you can make sound an option. To see how you can use this marketing option, go to www.geocities.com/pulsarmarketing

We have an example there on how you can offer your visitors the option to hear your audible promotion without forcing them to listen and making your pages load slow. All you have to do is create a wav sound file, and launch it by using a graphic or text link such as: "Click Here to listen to our promotion".

The personal touch of a person's voice on your site can help increase your conversions. But don't force the loading of sound files. Instead, use the method we recommend at the URL below:
www.geocities.com/pulsarmarketing

Another thing you can do to tell your site visitors about specials or new products and services your site offers, is to offer them a free subscription to your newsletter. Now that we've toured Wal Mart and we're ready to make our purchase, we know our way to the checkout counter because Wal Mart makes it easy for us. That's lesson #8. Your site needs to make it easy for visitors to purchase. If you do not provide any of your own products or services and strictly use affiliate programs, you need to make sure your relevant banners and text links are at the top of the page, clearly and readily visible, to the people visiting that page.

When we arrive at the checkout counter, besides asking us if we want paper or plastic and if we will be purchasing with cash or credit, the cashier asks if we found everything we needed. That's lesson #9. Make sure you offer your site visitors more options when they checkout. And, once again, if you do not directly sell your own products or services and you strictly use affiliate programs, you can offer your site visitors two links to click on: One link that opens the offer into a new window so the person may continue browsing your site after they are done applying or buying from your sponsor, and another link that simply goes directly to the sponsor in the same window.

Think we're done learning from Wal Mart? No. After we make our purchase, and even after we go home, there's lesson #10... the return policy. If you sell your own products or services, you need to assure your visitors that you stand behind what you sell, and make your return policy very clear. If you do not sell your own products and services, does your site have a way for customers to resolve problems, or to ask pre-sale questions? If not, you may lose customers to sites that do provide online customer service.

Affiliate Marketing at a Glance: Helpful Hints for the Beginner

Regarded as one of the choice Internet marketing systems offered to small businesses, affiliate marketing has caught the attention of accomplished entrepreneurs across the globe. With virtually no risk involved in the affiliate marketing game, payment is made only after results are provided. That is one of the several reasons that this form of trade has such a high level of popularity. And with a considerable number of programs currently available online, it is critical to make yours shine brightly above all other professional affiliate marketing systems.

Those with affiliate marketing expertise can easily secure an income of five figures per month. However, less than 5 percent of all individuals involved in these affiliate programs reach this milestone. A huge blunder that many affiliate potentials make is trying to merchandise too many products instead of concentrating on one particular market. In lieu of dispersing your endeavors, focus on your passion, advertise it, and sell it to the best of your abilities.

It is your responsibility to research the product or services that you are offering to the public. With the information you gather, you can produce a resource that builds your credibility with future customers and fellow affiliates. When you have the confidence of your peers, you are building trust in the world of affiliate marketing.

Once you have decided the affiliate market you are interested in, it is time to actively recruit partners. It is in your best interest to find individuals that have already developed traffic and would profit from your offer. You should provide your partners with promotional material, and make their affiliate marketing job as fun and easy as possible. Always keep in contact with your partners, and be sure to deliver updates or changes on products and services. It is also advisable to send tips on how to be successful in the marketing environment.

Promotion is a major component in any form of marketing. Several top affiliates use pay-per-click search engines. However, use these search engines with caution. If you don't know what you are doing you may lose money. It is best if you discover how to obtain natural search results or employ a search engine marketing firm.

Becoming a marketing guru is definitely not something that will happen overnight. Affiliate marketing takes research, motivation, and most of all, patience. But, as with all things, in the end it is all worth it.

Adapting To The Changing Face Of Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing has been used by brick and mortar retailers and exclusively online business, to develop their presence online. By engaging in symbiotic relationships with their affiliates, these businesses were able to increase their sales without a corresponding increase in advertising. But as the affiliate environment changes, affiliate programs must change as well.

Affiliate marketing has proven itself to be an effective Internet marketing strategy because it rewards people for their efforts to promote a company, which otherwise would have to solely rely on advertising.

In the past the majority of affiliates relied on advertising their affiliate links through search engines such as Google and Overture. This technique only remained useful as long as the competition from other affiliates, and the company itself, had a smaller reach than the market demand for the product or service being offered.

But as competition grew among affiliates the effectiveness of using search engine advertising diminished. This was in part to the fact that the major search engines required affiliates to let visitors know that they were affiliates.

Since most people prefer to click on links that they feel will connect them directly with the company, the response rate of those affiliate ads decreased.

In response to this change the affiliate community has had to resort to innovative tactics to bring traffic to their affiliate links.

Sites such as www.affiliateinternetsystem.com have responded to this shift in the market by introducing strategies and plans that will allow affiliates to gain affiliate commissions without purchasing advertising on the search engines.

Even among large advertisers there has been a shift in their method of online advertising. While many in the past had relied purely on pay per click programs, they have now moved towards content and community based advertising.

Affiliates have also responded to he changing online marketplace by advertising their affiliate programs through offline methods. Some of these offline methods have included magazine display advertising, post card mailings, and flyer distribution.

The affiliate marketing business is constantly in flux as affiliates look for ways to draw customers through their links. Careful affiliates also keep a close eye on the bottom line, to make sure that the affiliate program that they are promoting covers their expenses.

Another important subject covered by www.affiliateinternetsystem.com is the need to compare and contrast affiliate programs to decide on the right affiliate program to be involved with.

Successful affiliates monitor industry trends to select affiliate programs which seem promising. They track announcements by affiliate managers to see what information they can learn to help them increase the profitability of their affiliate businesses.

?Affiliates have shown that this is an effective model which relies more on ingenuity and creativity, than on a large sized corporate advertising budget,? said Donny Lowy, the author of Selling Online: Beyond eBay.

Donny Lowy, the CEO of http://www.closeoutexplosion.com, an online wholesale and closeout business, and http://www.wholesalecloseoutforum.com, an educational resource for the wholesale and closeout business, has introduced http://www.affiliateinternetsystem.com to help affiliates grow their business.

Reselling Products with Resale Rights: is this Trend Here to Stay?

Selling intangible and digital goods on the internet has brought a new e-commerce era in which resale products, resale rights and reprint rights have become an extension of the activity itself. Such intangible goods include software, e-books, manuals, articles, tutorials, certificates, forms, files, music, podcasts, movies, digital art, and many others that may be purchased through an electronic payment processor or with a charge to credit or debit cards.

Electronic payment processors are also called e-payments and are those made via a web browser for goods and services using credit or debit cards but processed by third party escrow agents or companies. Third party payment systems include Cli ckbank, Paypal, Stormpay, eGold, moneybookers, emo, worldpay, etc. Altogether, the number of resellers, also known as A ffiliate Marketers, is increasing every day making it possible to find whatever you look for on the internet.

All these facilities are to encourage the acquisition of products via internet, but behind the goods offered, there are many individual stories of innovation, hard work, and redrawing of marketing strategies. Established companies, solution providers, software developers and entrepreneurs, just to name a few, are moving from traditional marketing, telemarketing, printing, direct mail and emailing methods, to more effective efforts reselling products and products rights.

While many services stick to the model in which a reseller pays out from a few dollars to thousands of dollars in annual membership fees for reselling vendor programs, many vendors are moving to a scheme in which resellers pay for a product with resale rights. Ss the sale is final the buyer now owns the product, and then resells the product.

He may raise the price following the suggested price guidelines of the vendor, or determines the price at his sole discretion, keeping the total amount of the sale. This includes what would be the affiliate commission. So products sold this way are profitable for both the vendor and the reseller.

Resellers are found practically in every type of industry land-based and web-based, from housing to technology. Resellers perform one of the most important roles in the supply chain of digital products and intangible products worldwide, otherwise limited to one online and physical location; the vendor's location.

One of the first implementations of this marketing model was made by Independent Software Vendors (ISV) term applied to those companies specialized in making and selling software, a digital good usually for niche markets, such as health care professionals, real estate brokers, barcode scanning or factories' stock maintenance.

Today, software reselling has expanded not only to companies but to independent developers and amateur programmers who create small but fully functional and useful application software rather than system software such as operating systems and database management systems.

Under the new schema, software vendors sell their programs directly to resellers who are in charge of the product distributorship, being totally independent of the vendor and independent in their approach to working with their potential clients at their convenience. With this same behavior, other intangible and digital goods developers work with resellers to commercialize their products.

As a derivation of the reseller activity, some vendors offer resellers the opportunity to resell products to the end-user consumers keeping 100 percent of the earnings in a schema known as "resell rights". These can be limited rights, such as only reprint rights, or full rights, known as Master Resal e Rights.

These may include the commercialization of the software as the reseller wants, including printing, modification, distributorship, integration in CD bundles or even as give aways to encourage the participation in other activities, such as getting memberships.

With this panorama, we can confirm that resale products and resale rights are here to stay. If you want to become a reseller and earn an immediate commission on the sale. With affil iate marketing, the number of intangible products and digital goods you can resell are as big as your imagination can figure out. This includes all possible commerce branches as well as innovative digital business developed by entrepreneurs.

If you want to resell digital goods and intangible goods keeping 100% of the earnings, the possibilities are as large as the reselling of products, but depending on the goods in which you are interested, it is required to purchase the goods to get full master resell rights included. Or it might require getting a membership to a certain website.

Is reselling products with resale rights here to stay? You better believe it is! Get involved early, and you should profit from this current ctaze.

Ten Simple Ways to Explode Your Affiliate Commission

Are you looking for the "secret" to becoming a super- affiliate? While there isn't one particular secret to increasing your affiliate commission, here are ten easy ways to start making more money through affiliate programs as soon as possible.

1. Capture e-mail addresses before sending your visitor to the merchant website.

2. Write a review article about the product you are promoting. Make sure it's honest and that you talk about a few of the weak points of the product. This will help lower the visitor's defenses, and increase your clickthrough rate.

3. Promote products that offer recurring or residual commission, such as autoresponders, web hosting packages and membership sites.

4. Give away free viral PDF's tagged with your affiliate links.

5. Join two-tier affiliate programs and create an affiliate program directory of the the ten best two-tier affiliate programs. Optimize this page with the keywords "multi-tier affiliate programs", "two-tier" affiliate programs, and so on.

6. Create a unique but simple marketing formula that can be condensed into a 10-20 page free PDF. Tag the PDF with affiliate links to the products necessary for succeeding with the formula.

7. Start your own affiliate marketing newsletter that keeps affiliates up to speed on the best multi-tier affiliate programs. Imagine if you had a list of 5,000 people, and each of these people were your sub-affiliates for three to five of the best affiliate programs!

(A side benefit of this strategy is that some of your sub-affiliates will end up buying these products as well).

8. Write your own Internet marketing ebook tagged with five to ten affiliate links, and sell it for $25-30. Give people full resale rights!

9. Create your own affiliate marketing blog and add quality content often, that helps affiliates to succeed. When appropriate, sprinkle in affiliate links to quality merchant sites.

10. When running a Google Adwords ad, instead of sending someone straight to a merchant site from your landing page, capture their e-mail address. Entice them to join your mailing list by giving them a free PDF.

This PDF-you guessed it, will contain your affiliate links! Make it a viral PDF to make your affiliate marketing campaign even more profitable!
